Surfed and Sweated... Yeah!

15 mins of drama.

Today i witnessed how frail life can be.

I was on my way back to hall, waiting for the bus 143 at the chinatown bus stop today when it all happened. It was peak hour, around 6pm like that. There, in the middle of the bus stop, an elderly man in his 70s appeared to have fallen and was tended to by one of the police on duty in that area. A crowd had already formed and being the kay poh me with nothing important on my hands i crowded around to take a look too.

The policeman, a malay in his early twenties called for help over his radio, crouched down to the old man and tried to "attend" to him. Notice the " " s because he was simply rubbing the old mans hands and tried to commute to him which obviously was futile cos

1) He's a malay and the other's a chinese so there's probly the language barrier
2) The fallen man's probly unconcious.

With so many public eyes looking at him, the constable appeared calm and collected. He then "appeared" to take the elderly's pulse while looking his watch.. while doing all this, he managed to keep the crowd back so as to give the old man more air.

I must really applaud him. I mean how many of you will noe what to do if some elderly just fall in front of you and besides calling the ambulance and the police, will noe what to do next? For one, i certainly dun noe.

After what seemed like eternity, the paramedics arrived. Being the professionals they immdiately set to resuscitate the old man. Their actions were big and hurried and the old man's body seem so frail under their CPR and pumping etc. I wondered if the old man could take it all.
After injecting some drip, and doing the "heart electro-shocking thing" they hurried him off.

Within mins, the drama had ended. And the onlookers dispersed. Where the old man lied fallen and was desperately being wrestled fr the jaws of death, pple now stood over. Unaware of the drama that happened 10 mins ago. Only that little patch of blooded where the old man had bled fr the drip needle remained. But oblivious to the anxious crowd who were standing overit, waiting for their bus home.

Such grave feelings in my heart.

The way you are.

I remember the first bus ride too..it was a rainy day.

I remember how i like to say "Hello" to you in the reading room.. and our many SMSes under the table.

I remember you popping by my door and saying you want to eat ice-cream, at really wierd hours.

I remember the many noodle-cooking sessions and how you will scrutinize my washing of the dishes.

I remember the cheesecake you made for me.. tho i'm never a big fan but i must say i really enjoyed it then, tho it was a lot but i finished.

I remember the time we din sleep and then went to eat Mac Donalds in the morning. Altho i was so tired but i could see how satisfied you were after that.

I remembered being grouchy when you woke me up one morning cos you bought mac breakfast for me, and even if you din believe, i appreciated it.

There are many other things i remember you for. But one thing is how you stand by me despite what your friends have to say about me. Because you believed you noe me and they didn't. I'll always remember that.

I noe the loss of yur hamsters must have been hard. I too, share yur pain.

But reading about how your grades improved, and how strong you have became, how happy and at peace you are now, warms my heart.

Seems like i'm not the only one losing my tongue..

While browsing at the engin bazzar today, a girl was pointing to an ornament which she found to be pretty cute.

" Hey, look at this! The red cheek cheek so cute!"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During lunch break, A just got his food and was joining his friends at the table.

As he put his food down, he attempted to join the the conversation that was already on-going. Without the slightest idea of the topic being discussed, he jabbered:

"Wala-Yala-Doba?"

or somewhat along that line

The truth is, I'm just not good with words.

There were many things i actually wanted to write about, but whenever i start typing, i find myself having difficulties putting the thoughts to words. There were many entries that were never published, because they are just too incoherent even for the those that understand me most to comprehand.

Left as "saved drafts", these thoughts remain buried, at the pits of my inner self.

There are times i miss you all, the getting together at chomp chomp's, the marche sessions, the genki sushi, the bah kut teh.

There are times i miss you pple, the andy lau songs, the drinking sessions, the "hong mu" stories.

There are times I think about you. I can just picture you on yur bed, messing with yur split ends, listening to yur fav class 95.

There are times i miss just muggin with you all in the reading room, then a burger at lime green's after that, and the occasional cooking sessions in the lousy kitchen.

There are times i miss, the stupid games and jokes during orientation period. The sentosa trips and the poolside games.

There are times i really appreciate, the unwinding/chillout/makan sessions after a tedious lab, the coffee and the smoothies, the silly jokes and the idle chats.

The super-siaoz-onz-supper-club/ktv gang. Yeah, next time someone else drive me k.

These are memories i really cherish.

Amazing E3.

Temasek HAll, Block E, Level 3.

Really had an incredible time last nite catching up with the Temasek Hall people. Johnny, Qiaoling, Alvin, Daniel, Henry, Weijia,Colin.. and 2 new additions to their block... "Pauline" and "Little Henry". For your info Pauline's a dwarf rabbit with really small ears and sharp claws.. looks a little diff fr Vicki cos her ears shorter and pinkier. "little Henry" is really a mini- "Loki" in everysense.. but its so little! And its terribly timid. Its so called cos Henry's got to be his new daddy.

So it was there.. drinking volka orange left from the memorable session one year ago, when it was me, johnny and daniel and henry... singing along to our "ah pek" Andy Lau songs... this time it was a little diff.. as Johnny remarked that the feeling of "saddness" was missing. I said it was a good thing. We had root beer mixed with Volka Vanilla and i must say it was yummy.. and then Volka Orange with Sprite Ice.. Then we tried to coax Colin to tell us his "life story" which he cleverly avoided to in the end. And Henry with his "physological drunkeness". Considering his size and blood content, how can he get drunk with just 2 drinks... we think its purely mental.

If only we will do this every year. I was hoping 3 years fr now, we will still be having sessions like this.

Weijia: Sound them out if they free leh? this weekend? or next week? before tutorial kicks in full blown

The Da Vinci Code

I must applaud the authour Dan Brown for putting this book together... revealing how brilliant pple could be.

Tho I'm not sure if its fictional, I think its just brilliant how the clues and explainations just pieced together in this book..

Although controversial, i do recommed it as a good read.

Happy New Year to everyone.

Let's hope this year will be a better year then the past one.
